About 30 people attended a meeting in Bakers Corner pub on Tuesday night last (24th Jan.), the first public meeting in the area since the publication of the legislation. The meeting was chaired by Cllr. Hugh Lewis (People Before Profit) and addressed by Cllr. Melisa Halpin (People before Profit)and Gregor Kerr (Workers Solidarity Movement). The meeting was determinedly opposed to the tax and from it a number of people took newsletters for distribution among their neighbours and friends.
